Case 1:
Clinical history:

33-year-old male with a history of recurrent sinusitis. Five cycles of antibiotics were given during the last year. Admitted to a local hospital with symptoms of sinusitis. Computed tomography at the local hospital indicated bony erosion of the medial wall of the left maxillary sinus. The patient had experienced some fatigue. He was transferred to a referral center because of suspected invasive fungal sinus infection or malignant tumor. Intravenous antibiotics were given. A new CT was performed (Figures 1a and 1b).

Figure 1b:

A few days after admittance, the patient experienced sudden onset of abdominal pain. Abdominal X-ray showed free intraabdominal gas. An urgent laparotomy disclosed several foci of colonic perforations, and colectomy was performed.
